Government of Uttar Pradesh with a mandate to develop socially responsible and competent physician, to provide tertiary level health care Basti and nearby areas and to reduce shortfall of doctors in state. 500-bed, three-story general hospital, medical equipment, furniture, and staff and BSL lab and other necessary amenities which provides emergency, outpatient, inpatient, day-care, laboratory services and imaging services. Out Patient Department (OPD) services runs daily from Monday to Saturday (Full time).....
Basti was originally known as Vaishishthi. The origin of the name Vaishishthi is attributed to the fact that this area was the ashram of Rishi (sage) Vashistha in ancient period.Rama with his younger brother Lakshmana are described in the Ramayana as living with Rishi Vashistha for a period
