District Male Hospital, Basti was established in 1934 by Government of Uttar Pradesh with a mandate to develop socially responsible and competent physician, to provide secondary level health care to Basti and nearby areas and to reduce shortfall of doctors in state. The Hospital is located in Basti District northeast region of Uttar Pradesh.

The Diplomate of National Board (DNB) is a postgraduate degree in medicine awarded by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, on completion of three-year training in any of 30 broad specialties. DNB is equivalent to the Master of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), Doctor of Medicine (DM), and Master of Chirurgiae (MCh) in all purposes. Doctors who already hold an MD/MS/DM/MCh are eligible to directly appear in the DNB final examination.

Hospital is 300 bedded facility equipped with ICU, Trauma Centre, Ayush Dept., NRC Blood Bank, IPHL lab, Tele-Medicine and other necessary amenities which provides emergency, outpatient, inpatient, day-care, laboratory services and imaging services. Out Patient Department (OPD) services runs daily from Monday to Saturday 8:00AM To 2:00PM. and Emergency/Trauma Services runs 7x24hrs.
